Virat Bowling Practice indicates Pant’s exclusion?

India is playing T20I Series with Australia and the team management is looking to try few things in the series before Cricket World Cup 2022. Australia on the other hand want to try Steve Smith in the team as Mitchel Marsh won’t be available in this series.

Steve Smith did not play T20Is over the past three years and few Australian experts don’t want the team go back to Smith but go for Tim David. In Indian team net sessions, Virat Kohli is seen practicing his bowling skills.

As Indian team needs an extra medium seamer and part-time bowler if spinners fail or seamers fail, Virat Kohli seems to be trying to fill that gap. If Virat Kohli becomes a pacer, Rishabh Pant could be dropped for an extra batsman like Deepak Hooda. Is that going to be the plan or does this mean Pant’s inclusion, we have to wait and see.

It works in both cases as Virat bowling indicates team going for non-allrounders in the middle order. It also means one extra finisher is being selected and a middle order batsman might be giving way to allrounder. We have to wait and see, how team will go ahead on 20th September, in the first T20I.
