Stock Markets Update: Indices recover well on 19th April

Stock Markets end the week with good recovery

Stock Markets recover after four consecutive sessions of losses on 19th April, 2024. Investors did not find big enthusiasm in the starting moments of the session. Slowly, with Iran’s non-retaliation remarks and chances of Gulf War being considerably low, investors invested in big stocks. With huge recovery, BSE gained 599.34 points to close at 73,088.33 and Nifty gained 151.15 points to close at 22,147.00 mark.

BSE Sensex started trading at 71,999.65 and then continued to trade between 71,816.46 – 73,210.17. Index started below 72,000 mark and it continued to trade at the same level in the opening hours. With slight respite from Gulf countries about potential war, investors decided to invest in stocks at their lowest prices. Hence, BSE ended the trading session at 73,088.33 by gaining 599.34 points.

Nifty Sensex started trading at 21,861.50 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 22,179.55. Nifty50 hit the lowest at 21,777.65. Index started lower than previous closing and slowly it started to recover as the session progressed. Finally, with more investments in big stocks, Nifty50 ended by gaining 151.15 points on 22,147.00.

Indian Rupee traded at Rs.83.43 against US Dollar on 19th April 2024. Bajaj Finance, Mahindra & Mahindra, HDFC Bank, JSW Steel, Maruthi shares have ended up as Top Gainers. HCL Technology, Nestle India, TCS, L&T, Tata Motors shares have ended as Top Losers. Stock Markets ended this week of huge losses with some gains. But investors need some respite from war like situations globally to really prosper further.
