Parijatha Parvam Movie Rating: 1.5/5

Actor Chaitanya Rao has been trying his hand at medium budget films and he has been getting good number of opportunities, too. He has come up with Parijatha Parvam and it released this weekend on 19th April. Sunil is also part of the cast in an important role along with Shraddha Das. Let’s discuss about the movie, now.

Plot:
Youngster Chaitanya(Chaitanya Rao) has been trying hard for years to become a director. He takes inspiration from a real life person Bar Seenu(Sunil) and scripts a story around him. He wants to cast his friend Harsha(Harsha Chemudu) in the lead character. Producers like the story but they don’t want him to cast his friend in the lead character.

Unable to find any financier, he meets Shetty(Srikanth Iyenger) as one final attempt. But Shetty makes fun of him and mocks him. Hence, he decides to kidnap Shetty’s wife for a ransom. Parvathy(Shraddha Das) makes an unexpected entry into the story. Why? Watch the movie to know more.

Analysis:
Chaitanya Rao is good in this role and he did give a good performance. But the writing is no lethargic and unfunny that we cannot really connect with him. While there is no fault of him, he tried his best to work it out but he could not. Malavika Satheeshan had nothing to do. Sunil and Harsha Chemudu irritate us so much in the name of comedy that we find it unbearable through the first hour. Srikanth Iyenger also made no impression. While actors are all good, the writing is so bad that we cannot really take this anyway seriously and even enjoy it.

Parijatham Parvam just doesn't connect with us at any moment
Parijatham Parvam just doesn’t connect with us at any moment

Right from music to cinematography to editing to direction all technicians seem to have found ways to make things disinteresting as the film progresses. Second hour also adds to the torture started in the first hour with very erratic screenplay. Some stories even though regular screenplay magic can make them pleasant and watchable. But this one tries to follow famous Malayalam cinema Udayananu Tharam starring Mohanlal with slight deviations. Second hour doesn’t really come out good where if it had been better movie would have at least been watchable.

With good actors in ensemble, team did not know how to use their skills and scenes looked too old school to even get excited. Kambhampati Santhosh could have worked hard on his script and worked even better on the execution to make it at least a watchable comedy. In the end, it just feels torturous to watch this film.

Positives:
Hard to find

Negatives:
Lethargic Script writing
Unfunny scenes
Too Loud performances
Rest all
