Stock Markets once again maintained gains on 24th April. Metal sector stocks have seen big gains but IT sector stocks have registered losses. International Stock Markets did end with gains and this helped investors in our national markets. On the whole, BSE gained 114.48 points to close at 73,852.94 and Nifty gained 34.40 points to close at 22,402.40 mark.
BSE Sensex started trading at 73,957.57 and then continued to trade between 73,788.61 – 74,121.61. Index started well above the previous closing and investors thought it would cross the 74,000 mark as well. But the selling pressure as limited the gains and hence, BSE ended the trading session at 73,852.94 by gaining 114.48 points.
Nifty Sensex started trading at 22,421.55 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 22,476.45. Nifty50 hit the lowest at 22,384.00. Index started above the previous closing but did not maintain the same level of gains. Even though big stocks saw selling pressure, investors did not lose the gains. Hence, Nifty50 to end the session by gaining 34.40 points on 22,402.40.
Indian Rupee traded at Rs.83.35 against US Dollar on 24th April 2024. JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Powergrid Corporation, UltraTech Cement, Kotak Mahindra Bank shares have ended up as Top Gainers. Tech Mahindra, TCS, Maruthi Suzuki, Infosys, Reliance shares have ended up as Top Losers. Stock Markets could be looking at correction in coming days after 4 consecutive positive sessions.
