DC manages to win a high scoring close encounter against GT

DC has managed to sneak out a much needed victory for them in IPL 2024 against GT. At Delhi, DC team has damaged the moral of GT with massive two last overs where they scored 53 runs to push their score from mere 171/4 to 224/4. Last over by Mohit Sharma has cost GT the match, as he gave away 31 runs and in total 73 runs in the match.

His bowling figures have turned out to be the most expensive ever in IPL history. Rishabh Pant has lashed out against him in the final over and got 30 runs with bat while one extra is given with wide. He showcased how dangerous he can be but Mohit Sharma missed his yorkers which made him a hero for GT and Pant smashed those full tosses and slower balls out of the park.

Earlier, GT has won the toss and elected to field first. DC did not get big start with Jake Fraser-McGurk(23) falling early. This time they sent Axar Patel at no.3 and this experiment worked for them. He scored 66 runs from 43 balls and kept momentum for the team. Rishabh Pant lashed out in the end and scored 88 runs while Tristan Stubbs scored 26 off just 7 balls to take them to 224/4.

In the chase, GT batters have put their best efforts. Wriddhiman Saha(39), an aggressive Sai Sudharsan(65) did put them in the hunt while Shubman Gill failed. David Miller scored 55 runs from 23 balls to give them momentum to face final overs. But he got out at wrong moment while Rashid Khan (21) and Sai Kishore(13) tried their best in final two overs.
