
India has retained Border – Gavaskar Trophy after winning first two Tests – Nagpur Test and Delhi Test. They lost the Indore Test. Australia fought back strongly in Ahmedabad Test but India batters Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli centuries did not allow Australia to dominate. At Indore, India batsmen failed collectively and Australia could not find any chance to dominate in Ahmedabad Test.

Australia bowled out India for 571 runs on 4th Day. They batted with purpose to save the Test and ended 5th Day with 175/2. Travis Head (90) and Marnus Labuschagne (63) frustrated India bowlers throughout the day. Ravichandran Ashwin turned out to be pick of the bowlers with 24-9-58-1 figures. Ravindra Jadeja with 20-7-34-0 did not trouble as much as Ashwin. Axar Patel with 19-8-36-1 found a wicket and India agreed to end the Test on draw when umpires offered. In a tame draw, Shubman Gill bowling for the first time and Axar Patel reaching 50 wickets milestone are highlights.

India won the series by 2-1 and thanks to Kane Williamson for pulling off last ball victory for New Zealand. India will now meet Australia in World Test Championship Finals in England. The Finals will be held from 7-11 June. India will be happy with this result as Virat Kohli made runs and Shubman Gill showed great promise for future.
Ravichandra Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja proved with bat and ball when required for India. Axar Patel saved India in Nagpur and Delhi with his bat and even in Ahmedabad. Virat Kohli won the Player of the Match and Ravichandran Ashwin for his 25 wickets and 86 runs, won Player of the Series.
