ICC T20 World Cup could have been home for another stunning victory or upset had Bangladesh won against Pakistan at Adelaide after Netherlands won against South Africa, on the same ground. Pakistan and Bangladesh, the arch nemesis have taken on each other at World Cup on 6th November and whoever win the game, would have directly qualified into Semi-Finals. Pakistan managed to cross the line with great difficulty after Bangladesh gave them many opportunities.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Pakistan bowlers took good use of used pitch and restricted Litton Das, hero for Bangladesh against India. Shaheen Shah Afridi got him early and Najmul Hossain Shanto labored his way to 54 runs off 48 balls. Shakib Al Hasan got a bad decision even after taking review as the TV umpire failed to notice deflection after ball hitting the bat edge.

Afif Hossain (24), Soumya Sarkar (20) tried their best but Bangladesh never found momentum against tight Pakistan bowling. Shaheen Shah Afridi (4/22) stood out among the bowlers with Haris Rauf (1/21), Shadab Khan (2/30), Iftikhar Ahmed (1/15) helping him in restricting Bangladesh to 127/8 in 20 overs.
