Argentina already faced a major upset with Saudi Arabia winning against them and they needed to be on their toes against Netherlands. Nahuel Molina scored first goal for Argentina in the 35th minute and G.O.A.T Lionel Messi converted a penalty in the 73rd minute to give 2-0 lead.

When everyone thought Argentina had sealed the deal, Netherlands found Wout Weghorst hitting the first one in 83rd minute and equalizing second one in the 90+11th minute. With 2-2, Argentina also had to go into penalty shootout like Brazil. But Argentina scored 4 goals over Netherlands 3 and won by 4-3 scoreline, entering into Semi-finals.
Argentina took 14 shots at goal with 5 on target. They had 48% ball possession, made 602 passes with 82% accuracy. Argentina made 18 fouls, got 8 Yellow Cards, 8 Corners and 2 Offsides. Netherlands took 6 shots at goal with 2 on target. They had 52% ball possession, made 634 passes with 83% accuracy. Netherlands made 30 fouls, got 6 Yellow Cards, 1 Red Card, 1 Offsides and 1 Corners. Netherlands pushed Argentina into defensive strategy from first minute onwards but Argentina looked unfazed by them. Still at the crucial time when almost their loss was certain Wout Weghorst double strikes gave them a chance against Argentina at Lusail Stadium, Qatar.

During the game towards the end, Argentina and Netherlands players seem to have lost their tempers under pressure including Lionel Messi, many Argentina players got Yellow Cards and Netherlands player Denzel Dumfries got a Red Card too. Fans have also created huge chaos. FIFA might take some disciplinary action on both teams post World Cup.
Well, Argentina players have already stated that they want to give Lionel Messi, a big send-off by winning FIFA World Cup 2022. Messi already announced that this would be his last world cup as well. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi came to be known as Greatest Players of Football but never won a World Cup. Argentina wants to change that but Croatia is coming on the back off pulling an upset win against Brazil. It would be tough for Argentina but an exciting contest for us to follow. Argentina will take on Croatia in first semi-final on 14th December.
