AR Rahman has been performing at a concert in Pune. He has been asked to stop mid-way by Pune Police. They asked organisers to wrap it up as soon as clock hit 10. Without waiting for organizers to do it smoothly, Senior police officer walked on to the stage and stopped AR Rahman while performing. Audience watched it in stunned silence. AR Rahman wrapped it up and walked away.
He laughed and stated that he likes it too. AR Rahman without losing his cool, walked away with a wide smile. Fans, who attended his concert by paying thousands and travelled long, started protesting. No one listened to them. Social media started stating that AR Rahman has been disrespected by Pune Police, in the name of permissible time. Pune Police stated that they gave time till 10:00 PM only and they couldn’t let concert continue after permissible time.
AR Rahman is finding huge support on social media. Even Lyca Productions, who produced PS-1, PS-2, 2.0 with him have came in support for him on social media. Many people are calling it arrogance of Maharashtra government and Police, trying to establish their authority. AR Rahman as usual took it upon his chin and walked away in silence. AR Rahman called it a “Rockstar” movie moment in good fun.
