Normally, World Vegan day is celebrated a day after Halloween. Vegan diet and Veganism have become the new norm these days as many people are looking for ways to develop their fitness. His wife Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha can be named among the popular Indian celebrities who turned into Vegans and support vegan diet.
Well, back In 1994, the then Chair of The Vegan Society in the United Kingdom, Louise Wallis, announced World Vegan Day to be celebrated every year. While today, Veganism seems to have been caught on as a new fashion, due to PETA efforts and fit lifestyle popularity. Vegan diet was introduced as a lifestyle even before it had a name; the idea of avoiding meat, eggs, diary and any products sourced from animals was recorded in a statement by Dr.William Lambe in London, England. He was one of the first Europeans to speak out, and he was particularly active in promoting the health benefits of the vegan diet.

Now, let’s look at the Health benefits of Vegan Diet:
- Vegan diet helps people lose weight.
- Vegan diet is helpful in reduction of heart diseases.
- Vegan diet helps in keeping the mind active as well.
- Vegan diet is helpful in environment conservation.
- A well-planned Vegan diet is regarded as healthy for all stages of life, from infancy to pregnancy.
Well, opting to Vegan diet is completely based on your choice and availability. It is slightly costly for sure and increases cravings for snacks, cheat foods and other items too. Still, it is a better option than sticking to unhealthy and oilier foods. On World Vegan Day, let’s at least plan to move on to more healthy and sustainable diet if not just the Vegan diet.
