Team India and New Zealand have played their first ODI of 3 ODIs, in Hyderabad. The umpires have decided to fine 60% of match fees for Team India after they have been deemed to take more time to bowl three overs than the agreed time limit to bowl their overs. As they can fine for 20% of match fees for every over, they have gone with massive 60% of match fees, as fine. Earlier Captain of the team used to face fine and even one match suspension but now, entire Team faces fine. Team India took time to bowl as they are trying to stop Michael Bracewell from hitting the win runs.

In the match, Team India scored 349/8 in 50 overs and Shubman Gill scored a massive double century, 208 runs to help the team post the total. New Zealand struggled to start the chase and find the momentum. They have been reduced to 131/6 and Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner have come together to put up 162 runs partnership that took them to 293/7 and gave them a chance to threaten to win. Michael Bracewell scored 140 runs and in the last over he got out to give Team India a win by 12 runs.

Now, the action will move to Raipur for the second ODI. If Mohammad Shami will play or not, isn’t confirmed yet by the Team India management. Utilizing Suryakumar Yadav and fine tuning Hardik Pandya bowling will be the major concerns for the Team India as Raipur, is generally known as a batting paradise. New Zealand is not going to be an easy opposition but India has to be careful and ruthless with their plans for sure.
