Indian Legend Kapil Dev prefers pleasure over pressure

Indian Legend Kapil Dev, who captained first ever World Cup winning Indian team in 1983 and started the new wave of fearless cricket. Kapil Dev laid the foundation for later generation like Mohammad Azharuddin, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Javagal Srinath, Zaheer Khan, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma to take Indian cricket to newer heights and world domination status. Kapil Dev is credited for breaking the barriers of self-doubt with resilience and self-belief.

Kapil Dev said,” I don’t understand this pressure term. Many young and talented cricketers have been using this term. I used to take pleasure in playing the game and hence, never felt pressure. Even young kids say that they are under severe pressure. Parents in our days used to beat us black and blue. Today, no one can touch a kid. When you take pleasure in what you do, you don’t feel pressure.” Kapil Dev remarked that he is a son of a farmer and doesn’t understand these fancy terms like stress and pressure.

The video of Kapil Dev speaking his heart out in funny manner is going viral on the social media. While some are taking offence and saying that everyone cannot be “THE Kapil Dev”. Some are supporting him and saying that they need to find strength in facing realities of the world. Recently, English cricketer and world renowned all-rounder Ben Stokes made headlines by retiring from ODI Cricket to play T20Is, IPL and Tests due to stress and pressure of playing all three formats.
