YSRCP had high hopes of winning all MLC seats in the elections. TDP won graduate constituencies and leaders of the party projected it as big achievement. YSRCP wanted to win all MLC seats related to MLA quota. They strategized accordingly and decided to make it a statement to win all 175 MLA seats in next assembly elections. Out of 7 MLA quota MLC seats in elections, YSRCP won 6 and lost 1 to TDP.
YSRCP had 151 MLAs strength and 4 MLAs from TDP have deferred from the party. Hence, TDP should not have won any MLC seat. But they won one seat by 23 votes. Panchumarthi Anuradha won the MLC seat under MLA quota. YSRCP MLAs had to cross vote for TDP to win and this became sensational. Now, YSRCP has taken a decision to suspend 4 MLAs.

Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy stated that disciplinary committee has decided to suspend four MLAs. Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Undavalli Sridevi have been suspended from YSRCP. Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy clearly stated that they have discussed with YSRCP president and CM of AP, Jagan, before taking this decision.
