Sourav Ganguly has been appointed as BCCI President in 2019 and he was expected to bring revolutionary changes to the way Indian Cricket was managed. Sourav Ganguly got Ravi Shastri sacked, as per inside reports, and has been key in appointing Rahul Dravid as Indian Head Coach. Few reports even suggest that Virat Kohli’s resignation from T20I, ODI Captaincy and resultant handover of his Test captaincy to Rohit Sharma had Sourav Ganguly playing a crucial part.

Now reports suggest that N.Srinivasan, senior most member among BCCI team, played key role in sacking Sourav Ganguly and has seen that no current active members will take Indian Former Captain’s side. Sourav Ganguly had to leave the nomination process “dejected and disappointed”, suggested media reports. Trinamool Congress leaders have now turned this into a political issue.

Indian Union Home Minister, Amit Shah son Jay Shah holds the most powerful BCCI Secretary position and he got a consecutive term as well. But Sourav Ganguly did not get another chance and Roger Binny has been appointed to replace him.

So, Madan Mitra, one of key Trinamool Congress leaders, stated to a National Media House that BJP wanted to pit Sourav Ganguly against Mamata Banerjee as CM candidate in West Bengal as they cannot expect him to do what Mithun Chakraborthy, legend of Indian Cinema, could do, they have left him in the dry. Politics find a way to enter into anything that offers power and money. Can we get much better example than this?
