India restricts Australia lead but struggle to build one!

India found a saviour in Cheteswar Pujara. He has been playing the ball fine and scoring runs at his own pace. Shreyas Iyer took on spinners and scored 26 runs off 26 balls in quick time. But Mitchell Starc got him and India is again on back foot with 117/5.

India started the second day of Indore Test trying to restrict Australia lead under 100. Peter Handscomb and Cameron Green did not find it easy to score runs against India bowlers. After putting 30 runs on board, Ravichandran Ashwin got Peter Handscomb (19) to a sharp catch at short leg by Shreyas Iyer. In the next over, Cameron Green (21) got out to Umesh Yadav. India came back into the game as both of them got next 4 wickets in 9 runs.

Ravichandran Ashwin got Alex Carey (3) and Nathan Lyon (5). Umesh Yadav got Mitchell Starc (1) and Todd Murphy (0). Australia got bowled out for 192 runs in 76.3 overs. Ravichandran Ashwin (3/44), Umesh Yadav (3/12) and Ravindra Jadeja (4/78) got the wickets for India. Later, India in their second innings lost Shubman Gill (5), Rohit Sharma (12), Virat Kohli (13), Ravindra Jadeja (7) for 78 runs.
