RCB have been almost out of the tournament IPL 2024. They lost 6 back to back matches and their chances to enter playoffs have been severly limited. Hence, they needed to win as many matches as they can to give themselves an opportunity. RCB won against SRH defending score and now, they won against GT, chasing.
Especially, Will Jacks unleashed beast in him after struggling for first 10-14 balls. After scoring half century, he just blasted Mohit Sharma and Rashid Khan for 56 runs in just 12 balls. He was batting on 44 runs from 29 balls before he unleashed such beastly hitting form on both the above mentioned bowlers. His innings even surprised Virat Kohli and spectators, viewers to the core.
Earlier, RCB won the toss and elected to field first. Shubman Gill(16) and Wriddhiman Saha(5) failed as openers to give huge start. Sai Sudharsan and M Shahrukh Khan(58) came together to put up a good partnership at this moment. They both have put on 86-run partnership for 3rd wicket. David Miller(26) joined Sai Sudharsan(84) and finished the innings for GT to score 200/3.
Glenn Maxwell returned to RCB after a much needed break and he took Gill’s key wicket. In the chase, Virat Kohli started hitting from the first over. Faf du Plessis(24) also gave great support and he scored at 200 strike rate to give momentum to the innings for Kohli and rest to continue.
Will Jacks came to the centre at this point and scored a memorable 100 in just 41 balls. RCB won this in memorable fashion to give their campaign some hope to end at a higher place in the table that at the bottom after these two wins. From 10 games they won just 3 and points wise they don’t have a chance. Still, they can change the fate for others.
