Stock Markets Update: Indices end the week on huge losses

Stock Markets dips huge after 5 consecutive sessions of gains

Stock Markets have ended the final Friday of April with huge losses on 26th April. Investors did not find similar enthusiasm like in the previous 5 sessions. International Stock Markets have registered huge losses and this forced investors to put selling pressure. Hence, BSE lost 609.28 points to close at 73,730.16 and Nifty lost 150.40 points to close at 22,419.95 mark.

BSE Sensex started trading at 74,509.31 and then continued to trade between 74,515.91 – 73,616.65. Index started above 74,500 mark but immediately started losing steam and plummeted to losing 900 points. It recovered little bit and BSE ended the trading session at 73,730.16 by losing 609.28 points.

Nifty Sensex started trading at 22,620.40 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 22,620.40. Nifty50 hit the lowest at 22,385.55. Index started above the previous closing but it plummeted from the start to end of the session. Big banking stocks have lost huge and hence, Nifty50 to end the session by losing 150.40 points on 22,419.95.

Indian Rupee traded at Rs.83.40 against US Dollar on 26th April 2024. Tech Mahindra, Wipro, ITC, UltraTech Cement, Titan shares have ended being Top Gainers. Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, IndusInd Bank, Nestle India, Kotak Mahindra Bank shares have ended up being Top Losers this session.
