Telangana IT Minister KTR, Kalvakuntla Taraka Ramarao, son of CM KCR, has announced the new Hyderabad Airport Express Metro. The new route will run from Hyderabad Mindspace junction till Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad. KTR stated that the 31 KM Metro line will be completed in 3 years with a cost of Rs.6250 Crores. CM KCR will lay foundation stone for the project on 9th December.
KTR sharing the happy news on Twitter, wrote:
“Hyderabad is Forging Ahead. Happy to announce that Hon’ble CM KCR Garu will be laying the foundation for Airport Express Metro on 9th December. This project starting at Mindspace junction to Shamshabad Airport will be 31 KM long & will be costing approximately ₹6,250 Cr”

After he announced the Airport Express Metro, several citizens have asked him to talk about Metro route expansions to existing lines such as – Raidurg to Gachibowli, LB Nagar to Nagole and Miyapur to BHEL areas. KTR replied that the BHEL to Lakidikapul and Nagole to LB Nagar routes are in consideration of Telangana Government and are in talks about the budget and permissions from Indian Central Government. Well, after this project along with latest Durgam Cheruvu Flyover, Shilpa Layout – ORR – Gachibowli new flyover, Hyderabad is on the verge of becoming true global city.
