Vijay Antony has made a special name for himself in Tamil and Telugu states with Bichagadu film. Since, then he has been choosing variety of subjects and been trying to repeat the same success. While his script choices have been great, some films did not stand true to their potential. Now, he has come up with Love Guru/Romeo film. The trailer and promotional material have created good buzz and movie released for Eid, on 11th April. Let’s discuss about the film in detail.
Plot:
A Malaysian Businessman Aravind(Vijay Antony) delays his marriage to settle his family and become loan free. What decision does Aravind takes as Vikram to help Leela? Where it will land them as a couple? Watch the movie to know more.
Analysis:
Vijay Antony is good in comedy scenes in this film. He has been delivering good performances in action and drama films but this film has showcased his good comic timing and sense of humor. His performance stands out in the film. Mrinalini Ravi has been given a performance oriented role and she performed to the best of her capabilities. Comedy scenes involving Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh have brought the house down.
Farook J Basha’s visuals and frames have been apt to the theme of the story. Music by Barath Dhanasekar is also good for the theme. Director Vinayak Vaithinathan brought out good performances from all the cast and he even assembled good technical crew apt for his story. The problem arises with familiarity of the scenes and screenplay with few old blockbuster movies. Mainly, the familiarity with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi strikes among others.
Still, the director has been able to create enough warn moments for us to fall in love with the leading couple. A few stretches in the second half drag a bit but the climax is strong and entertaining enough for us to enjoy the film. The ensemble performances and good production values make this a movie a good family entertainer for everyone to watch.
Positives:
Vijay Antony perfomance
Mrinalini Ravi performance
Chemistry between Mrinalini and Vijay
Production Values
Negatives:
Familiarity with few old films
Few stretches of drag in second hour
Predictability in screenplay
Love Guru Movie Bottom-line: Good Fun to watch
