IPL 2024: RCB bowlers win them a match against GT

RCB bowlers came together as an unit against GT

RCB have been finding themselves in tough situations due to bowling and batting failures in IPL 2024. Their batters have won them few games but bowling never looked like a big dangerous unit. And at home, in Bengaluru Chinnaswamy Stadium, their bowling unit has always found themselves second fiddle to opposition.

But in this match against GT, RCB bowling has come together as an unit. Earlier, they won the toss and elected to field first. Mohammed Siraj(2/29), Yash Dayal(2/21), Vijaykumar Vyshak(2/23), Cameron Green(1/28) did not let GT batters run away with the innings.

M Shahrukh Khan(37), David Miller(30), Rahul Tewatia(35) tried to save the innings and take GT to 180-190 score in the middle order. RCB bowled out GT for 147 in 19.3 overs. GT never looked like a good unit who are energised together to fight against a team that is struggling.

In the chase, Faf du Plessis gave a splendid start to RCB. He scored 64 runs from 23 balls in the powerplay. Virat Kohli also assisted him and hence, RCB looked like chasing this score down in 10 overs. At the end of powerplay, the team scored 92/1 in just 6 overs. Josh Little got rid of Faf and other big hitters taking 4 wickets.
