Indian Population Census might start in September

Indian Population Census could start from September

Indian Population Census has been delayed from 2021 due to Covid-19 pandemic. Union Government has been proposing to conduct and complete census from long time. But they have been taking time to fix the date and appoint data compliers. Now, reports suggest that Union Government to complete the census process by March 2026 starting it in September 2024.

Normally, Indian Government should conduct population census once every decade. This time, the pandemic delayed the process and economists have been unhappy with further delays. The statistical surveys like inflation, jobs and economical growth is directly proportional to census and hence, they have been pushing government to complete it soon.
