Sri Lanka have elected to bat first in Chattogram Test after winning the first Test. Openers gave a good start to the innings with a 96-run partnership. Nishan Madushka(57), Dimuth Karunaratne(83) have set a good stand that Kusal Mendis(93), Dinesh Chandimal(59) and Dhananjaya de Silva(70) took the score over 400. Kamindu Mendis with a 92 took the score past 500. Sri Lanka posted 531 runs in 159 overs in their first innings.
In reply, Bangladesh got bowled out for just 178 runs and SL did not impose follow-on. Zakir Hasan(54) and Mominul Haque(33) helped them at least post this score. Asitha Fernando(4/34) took maximum wickets for Sri Lanka. In the second innings, Sri Lanka tried to score as fast as they can and put on 157/7 in 40 overs. Angelo Mathews(54), Nishan Madushka(34) and Prabath Jayasuriya(28) scored well for SL.
Hasan Mahmud(4/65) took most wickets for Bangladesh in this innings. With a 510 runs target, Bangladesh batters tried to bat out and save the test as a draw. Mominul Haque(50), Shakib Al Hasan(36), Litton Das(38) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz(81) tried their best to save the Test. But Bangladesh got bowled out for 318 runs in 85 overs.
Sri Lanka won the match by 192 runs and clean swept the series by winning both scheduled tests. Lahiru Kumara(4/50) and Kamindu Mendis(3/32) ended with best bowling figures in the second innings for SL. Kamindu Mendis took Player of the Match and Player of the series awards for his performances with bat and ball.
