South Africa is now touring New Zealand and they have decided to field a relatively inexperienced and young XI in the Mount Maunganui Test. They won the toss and elected to field first. New Zealand batters found themselves in trouble at 39/2. Kane Williamson, once again came to rescue and he absorbed all the pressure to score another Test century.
He scored 118 runs from 289 balls. While scoring his 30th Test century, he got great support from young star Rachin Ravindra. The youngster scored his maiden century and went on to score a huge double hundred. He scored 240 runs from 366 balls. They both have put on 232-run partnership and helped NZ sail to safe shores.
Valuable contributions from Glenn Phillips(39) and Matt Henry(27) took the score above 500. NZ scored 511 runs from 144 overs in their first innings. Captain Neil Brand(6/119) took major wickets for South Africa. In reply, SA lost Neil(4) and Raynard van Tonder(0) wickets, early. Others have chipped in but SA ended the second day at 80/4 trailing way behind NZ.
