New Zealand completes a big win against young South Africa

New Zealand won against young SA by 281 runs

Kane Williamson has put New Zealand in a huge winning position with his two centuries in both innings of Mount Maungauni Test. New Zealand has declared at 179/4 overnight and invited South Africa to try and chase 528 runs. Young South Africa tried to bat against experienced bowling attack of NZ. But the opening partnership did not have anything to contribute.

Edward Moore(0) and captain Neil Brand(3) quickly got out and at 5/2, Raynard van Tonder(31), Zubayr Hamza(36) came together. NZ pushed SA to 73/4. David Bedingham has decided to take on bowlers and scored 87 runs from 96 balls. For fifth wicket he helped put on 105 runs and he fell for his own aggression.

By losing wickets at regular intervals, SA got bowled out for 247 runs in 80 overs. Kyle Jamieson(4/58), Mitchell Santner(3/59), Glenn Phillips(1/30), Matt Henry(1/33) and Tim Southee(1/46) took wickets for New Zealand and finished a big win. New Zealand won the match by huge margin of 281 runs.

Rachin Ravindra for his first innings 240 runs and 2/16 bowling performance, has been selected as Player of the Match. While Kane Williamson scored two centuries and hit 31 number in total, he also appreciated a youngster getting the award. Both the teams will play second Test at Hamilton on 13th February.
