Mohammed Siraj helps India take lead against England

Mohammed Siraj and bowlers have helped India gain a huge lead in Rajkot Test

Ben Duckett already scored a century on the second day at Rajkot Test. Many feared with Ravinchadran Ashwin’s sudden absence from the Test, India bowlers will be easily smacked all around the ground by Bazballing English batters. But bowlers took the onus on themselves and even some mindless shots by English batters trying to be aggressive also helped them.

Jasprit Bumrah got the wicket of Joe Root(18) who tried to reverse sweep him for a slip catch. Immediately, Kuldeep Yadav sent back Jonny Bairstow for a duck. From 207/2, England found themselves reeling at 225/4. Ben Duckett completed his 150 and fell at 153 from 151 balls. He also got out to Kuldeep Yadav and England have been reduced to 260/5.

Ben Stokes(41) and Ben Foakes(13) tried to salvage the situation but Stokes and Foakes fell on 299 in back-to-back balls. After they got dismissed, England got all-out for 319 runs from 71.1 overs. Mohammed Siraj has taken 4/84 and helped India to not feel the absence of a legendary spinner like Ashwin.

Jasprit Bumrah(1/54), Kuldeep Yadav(2/77) and Ravindra Jadeja(2/51) took wickets on the third Day to give India a huge lead. After dismissing England for 319, India ended up with a lead of 126 runs. Now, India would be looking to bat England out of the game with a target more than 400 runs.
