IPL 2024: SRH again score above 250 and win handsome

Travis Head looked destroy every bowler for SRH

SRH with the inclusion of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen along with Pat Cummins have changed their mindset. From being a 140-160 batting first or chasing side to a consistently 240-260 scoring side in this IPL 2024. They have made 287/3, the highest ever in IPL history and today, again threatened to score over 300. But fell short yet they won by 67 runs against DC.

Earlier, DC won the toss and elected to field first. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma(46) launched all guns against their bowlers and scored highest ever powerplay score ever in any T20 league worldwide. The opening partnership has put on 131 runs in just 6.2 overs. Head did not stop his onslaught but got out after scoring 89 runs of just 32 balls. He reached fifty in just 16 balls.

Nitish Kumar Reddy(37) and Shahbaz Ahmed(59) have given huge momentum boost in the final five overs to push the score to 266/7 in 20 Overs. They had to recover from a collapse in the middle overs post such huge start and while they were forced to slow down, Shahbaz did the job to once again put up 250 above score on board for SRH. This is the third time, they scored such massive score in this season.

Kuldeep Yadav(4/55) got the wickets but Axar Patel(1/29) stood out among DC bowlers. Prithvi Shaw started off the chase for DC with 4 boundaries from first 4 balls but fell on the 5th one. Jake Fraser-McGurk looked like taking the game away from SRH despite such huge target. He scored 50 in just 15 balls and got out on 65 from just 18 balls.

After his dismissal, Abishek Porel(42) and Rishabh Pant(44) rescued DC from huge NRR losing defeat. SRH has won this match by 67 runs as DC got all-out for 199 in 19.1 overs.

Still, they did not get their 100-run difference win with such a huge score but this win has sent shivers down other team bowlers as Head and Sharma are set to destroy their careers. With 5 wins from 7 games, they seem confirmed to qualify this season along with RR.
