KKR have been able to cross the line in this season, IPL 2024, in more close matches than previous season. Against RCB, they have pulled off a last ball thriller in a see-saw game of action. Whenever one team looked completely on top, another one punched back and in the final over as well the game oscillated between the two sides.
RCB won the toss and elected to field first. KKR opener Phil Salt came good but Sunil Narine failed. Salt scored 48 and then Shreyas Iyer kept the innings together. Iyer scored a fifty and Rinku Singh(24), Andre Russell(27) and Ramandeep Singh(24) finished the innings on a high. KKR scored 222/6 in 20 overs.

In the chase, Virat Kohli(18) took off but got out in a controversial way. Will Jacks(55) and Rajat Patidar(53) have put on 102 runs partnership in just 8 overs. They have given RCB a definitive chance to chase down the score. Suyash Prabhudessai(24), Dinesh Karthik(25) took them even closer. Andre Russell kept taking wickets and ended his spell before last over with figures 3/25.

In the final over bowled by Mitchell Starc, RCB needed to score 21 runs to win. Karn Sharma could hit three big sixes but when they needed 3 runs off 2 balls, he could not clear the boundary and for the last ball, Lockie Ferguson got runout. So, KKR won this thriller by just 1 run. Andre Rusell won the Player of the Match award for his allround show.
