Gujarat Titans, GT have been consistent in their first two seasons and they want to establish their strength once again after losing their captain. Being mostly young side, the team want to prove again that they deserve to be among the top sides. After losing to CSK, they wanted a good win against SRH. And their bowlers have done well to give an easy win with 7 wickets remaining.
Earlier, SRH have won the toss and elected to bat first. Opener Mayank Agarwal(16) struggled to score and even Noor Ahmad got Travis Head(19) as well, early. After scoring highest score ever in IPL, SRH batters struggled in this match to score. Mohit Sharma(3/25) has been the star among the bowlers with a tight spell. SRH ended up scoring 162/8 in their 20 overs.
In the chase, GT batters did not let SRH bowlers to restrict them in the powerplay. Wriddhiman Saha scored 25 runs in 13 balls and his innings gave momentum to GT in the first overs itself. Shubman Gill also scored at good pace and made 36 runs from 28 balls. This gave ample time for Sai Sudharsan(45) to set himself and put up winning partnership with big hitter David Miller.
They both have put up 64-run partnership for the third wicket. David Miller scored 44 runs from 27 balls and bashed SRH bowlers to take the match away from Hyderabad. GT scored 168/3 19.1 overs and won the match by 7 wickets. With this easy win, GT established themselves as a strong side and not easy to beat. Mohit Sharma won the player of the match for his best spell.
