Chennai Super Kings, CSK, have been unbeatable at home, that is, Chennai. Over the years, they have made it their fortress and have turned out to be a very hard side to beat at home. After two losses in other venues, they are back at home and back to winnings ways. CSK have won against KKR in a very easy, clinical way by wickets.
Earlier, CSK have won the toss and elected to field first. KKR lost Phil Salt for the first ball of the match. Sunil Narine fired in the powerplay after slow start. He looked like hurting CSK further before Ravindra Jadeja sent him for 27 and Angkrish Raghuvanshi(24). After that KKR could never really find any momentum with only, Shreyas Iyer scoring 34 to steer innings while others failed.
KKR scored a meagre 137/9 on a slow pitch. Ravindra Jadeja proved crucial in the middle overs by taking 3 wickets and ending with figures 3/18. Tushar Deshpande(3/33) and Mustafizur Rahman(2/22) also tightened the crews of KKR. CSK started chase with Rachin Ravindra(15) going after Starc. Yet his stay has been cut short by Vaibhav Arora.
Ruturaj Gaikwad played the situation with caution mixed with aggression approach. Daryl Mitchell(25) kept the partnership going setting up the match. Shivam Dube(28) got some quick runs and decided to end the match quickly. As he perished MS Dhoni came out for fans and hit a run while Ruturaj(67) deservingly finished the match with a boundary.
CSK would be looking to strengthen their position further with few more wins. On the other hand, KKR after a destructive batting performance against DC, could only put up 55% of the previous score. As they say, cricket is a leveler, this match would be a wake up call for all teams to not take things for granted.
