CSK, the reigning champions with new captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, have been asked to bowl first by RCB captain Faf du Plessis. RCB have won the toss and elected to bat first after winning the toss. In the IPL opener, CSK and RCB have kick started the IPL 2024 at the Chepauk in Chennai.

Virat Kohli(21) and Cameron Green(18) tried to put a partnership but fell trying to go after Fizz in 12th over. From 78/6, Anuj Rawat(48) and Dinesh Karthik(38) have put on a rearguard partnership 85 runs. Hence, RCB ended scoring 173/6 in 20 overs. CSK needs 174 runs to win the match.
