Stock Markets Update: Indices gain before Holi

Stock Markets did end a losing session with slight gains

Stock Markets ended with slight gains on 22nd March 2024. Investors did not start the session on a positive note. International Stock Markets also did not give them any boost. Reality, Metal stocks did lend to some good investments and hence indices recovered from losses. BSE gained 190.75 points to close at 72,831.94 and Nifty gained 84.80 points to close at 22,096.75 mark.

BSE Sensex started trading at 72,231.66 and then continued to trade between 72,172.09 – 73,115.62. Index did not have a positive start and continued in losses till mid-session. As the Metal stocks attracted investors it touched 73,000 mark at one point. But at the highest selling pressure crumbled it and BSE ended the trading session at 72,831.94 by gaining 190.75 points.

Nifty Sensex started trading at 21,932.20 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 22,180.70. Nifty50 hit the lowest at 21,883.30. Index started lower than the previous closing and recovered slightly over the session. Big stocks performed better towards the end and Nifty50 ended by gaining 84.80 points on 22,096.75.

Indian Rupee traded at Rs.83.54 against US Dollar on 22nd March, 2024. UPL, Maruthi Suzuki, Hero Motors, Bajaj Auto, Sun Pharma ended up as Top Gainers. Wipro, Infosys, LTI Mindtree, TCS, HCL Technology ended up as Top Losers. Stock Markets have had a better end to a week that had several ups and downs all the way.
