Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has been arrested by ED in the Delhi Liquor Scam case. Earlier, they arrested Telangana MLC Kavitha in the same case and took her into judical custody. Now, they shook the nation by arresting a sitting CM in power, at his home. Arvind Kejriwal has moved to Supreme Court resisting his arrest.
Earlier, Enforement Directorate, ED officials went to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence and then started inquiring him about his role in the Delhi Liquor Scam case. He has decided to stay silent on their queries and they arrested him on charges on non-cooperation. He did not attend to inquires after receiving nine summons and hence, ED sought arrest warant against him.
As AAP supporters started gathering at the residence of Delhi CM, ED has decided to arrest him and present him at Delhi Court after the arrest. Arvind Kejriwal moved to Supreme Court challenging his arrest and CJI asked it to be taken by another bench. ED is sorting ten days custody of Arvind Kejriwal like they did in Manish Sisodia and MLC Kavitha cases.
