India Women have been able to humble South Africa Women in the ongoing series. South Africa toured in the tri-color nation for 3 ODIs, one Test and 3 T20Is. Indian team has been able to win ODI series with 3-0 scoreline and Test with as well. In the T20I series, SA women won the first match while second one got washed way. In the third one, India won and equalled the series.
Going into the details, India won the toss and elected to field first. Laura Wolvaardt(9), Marizanne Kapp(10) could not really contribue to the scoring. Tazmin Brits struggled hard to score 20 runs from 23 balls. Anneke Bosch also scored 17 runs and got out with score on 61/4 from 10.2 overs. From here on, Indian bowlers dictated collapse of SA-W.
South Africa Women got bowled out for 84 runs from 17.1 overs. Radha Yadav(3/6) and Pooja Vastrakar(4/13) did not let SA-W batters to settle down and give a competitive score to India. With rather an easy chase to register a huge win, Indian openers did not try to bat over aggressively at any moment. They did not let South African bowlers to restrict Indian scoring or free flow of runs.
Superstar Opening batter Smriti Mandhana scored 54 runs from 40 balls and showcased her form once again. Shafali Verma assisted her crubbing her natural aggression with 27 runs from 25 balls. India Women won the match by 10 wickets. For her exceptional bowling, Pooja Vastrakar won Player of the match and series awards.
