Hardik Pandya has taken up the opportunity of moving to Mumbai Indians, MI from Gujarat Titans, GT, even though GT has been dependent on him. They have given him the opportunity to lead the newly formed team and he won them the cup and took them to finals, next year. But his transfer to MI and announcement as captain, did not go down well with other cricketers.
Rohit Sharma fans have taken to social media to showcase their disappointment by trolling and abusing Hardik. But in the match against GT, his captaincy and moves did not go down well with experts as well. He walked out at No.7 in the chase and did not take the responsibility upon him like he did for GT to take MI to winning shores.
He did not give first over to Jasprit Bumrah and he decided to bowl himself with new ball. Also, while placing fielders, he sent Rohit Sharma to deep while Rohit has stopped fielding in deep from long time. This did not go down well with Ro or Hitman fans. Hardik not being able to finish the match, also has given them a chance to troll him.
Above all, even Mohammad Shami expressed disappointment in Hardik Pandya’s moves during the night. He stated that Hardik should have gone higher up the order to form a partnership with Rohit Sharma, as he knew the conditions better. Shami was his GT team member and coming from him such strong criticism shows how all eyes are on Hardik.
Well, we have to wait and see how Mumbai Indians will handle this in the next matches of the tournament. Ahmedabad fans have booed Hardik and this could happen elsewhere too, as Rohit is the captain of Indian team and also a favorite player of many.
