Aman Sehrawat, Indian wrestler, reached Semi-Finals in Men’s 57 Kgs Freestyle and lost to Japanese wrestler Rei Higuchi. He looked unbeatable against his opponents in previous matches. But against a technicially dominant opponent, he couldn’t really bring his A-game. While he tried his best, Rei Higuchi did not drop his game at any moment.
Earlier, the young Indian wrestler, Aman has been able to beat Vladimir Egorov with 10-0 to advance. Post this bout, he won against Zelimkhan Abakarov with 12-0 score to reach Semi-Finals. With his dominating entry into Semi-Finals, many expected Aman to continue the form and go for Gold.
Putting an end to advancement of young Indian wrestler, Higuchi Rei dominated their bout from first second. Aman looked completely lost in countering his opponent’s technique. With the same speed, how he made points in earlier bouts, conceded points in the Semi-Finals. Well, he still has a chance to win a medal for India.
Aman Sehrawat will play Bronze medal match at Paris Olympics 2024. Now, every Indian wants him to put this defeat aside and try to give India 5th medal at this Olympics. While many athletes came closer to winning a medal and failed. We should just hope that this young man will bring glory to India for sure.
