Union Government has announced Bharat Ratna honor to respected politician LK Advani. He has been one of the senior most and popular politicians in current Indian Political scenario. He started his political career with Bharatiya Jana Sangh after being a pracharak for RSS. He became leader of BJS in Delhi Metropolitan Council, DMC. Later, he became Chairman of DMC.
In 1970, he entered Parliament as MP in Rajya Sabha from Delhi. In 1976, as opposition united and formed Janatha Party, he became one of the important leaders of the party. He became Minister of Information and Broadcasting in 1977 after Janatha Party, formed government against Indira Gandhi. In 1980, as Janatha Party lost elections, he became leader of Opposition in Parliament.
He became co-founder of Bharatiya Janatha Party, along with Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He worked hard for the rise of BJP with his Rath Yatra. He has been one of the most important political leaders who talked about Ayodhya dispute and Ram Janmabhoomi issue. He became deputy Prime Minister at the height of his popularity. But he retired from active politics after Narendra Modi rised to the height of becoming the face of BJP.
Now, PM Narendra Modi visited LK Advani at his residence and informed him about the decision of the government to confer him with Bharat Ratna. He shared the pics with LK Advani and then announced about the decision to give him the esteemed award on X, formerly Twitter.
He wrote a heartfelt note about his accomplishments. He wrote, “I am very happy to share that Shri LK Advani Ji will be conferred the Bharat Ratna. I also spoke to him and congratulated him on being conferred this honour. One of the most respected statesmen of our times, his contribution to the development of India is monumental. His is a life that started from working at the grassroots to serving the nation as our Deputy Prime Minister. He distinguished himself as our Home Minister and I&B Minister as well. His Parliamentary interventions have always been exemplary, full of rich insights.”
PM Narendra Modi went on to praise LK Advani and stated, “Advani Ji’s decades-long service in public life has been marked by an unwavering commitment to transparency and integrity, setting an exemplary standard in political ethics. He has made unparalleled efforts towards furthering national unity and cultural resurgence. The conferring of the Bharat Ratna on him is a very emotional moment for me. I will always consider it my privilege that I got countless opportunities to interact with him and learn from him.”
