Poonam Pandey’s team has announced that she passed away due to cervical cancer on 2nd February. Whole day, social media has been filled with posts about cervical cancer and how it can cause. Her managers and team members kept stating that she had passed away due to the late discovery of the cancer.
On 3rd February, she posted a video stating that she did not actually pass away but she had spread the fake stories to bring awareness about cervical cancer. After the video went viral, immediately, she started receiving huge amount of backlash, including abusive messages, death threats and unobjectionable words.

Many stated that faking someone’s death for awareness is a bad gimmick to play. They all stated that this is too extreme and would result in people not believing her ever. But the model-actress did not consider about anything and stated that she is ready to fight her cancer and she wanted to spread awareness.

Ram Gopal Varma appreciated her attempt at creating awareness as everyone is talking about the cancer. He stated that whatever the means, getting people to talk about an issue is important. But netizens and internet did not agree with him or her act. Faking death is going too far for spreading any sort of awareness.
