A late-night crash outside the Rajasthan state assembly has triggered a serious security scare, after a speeding SUV rammed into the assembly’s main railing and fled the scene without stopping.

The crash happened early Monday morning, between 3:00 and 3:30 am, when a white Toyota Fortuner rammed into the main gate of the Rajasthan Assembly in Jaipur. The impact badly damaged the metal barriers, raising fresh concerns about security at the high-profile site.

CCTV footage shows the SUV racing towards the gate before crashing straight into it and speeding off. Bits of shattered glass and car parts were left scattered across the road, showing just how hard the impact was.

Security guards on duty quickly alerted the police. A complaint was filed at Jyoti Nagar Police Station, and officers are now working to track down the vehicle and the driver behind the wheel. Police say they’ve gathered footage from nearby cameras and are confident about identifying the suspect soon.

“We are treating this as a serious breach, given the location. All leads are being followed, and a search is on to trace the driver,” a police official said.

At this stage, it’s not clear whether the crash was accidental, reckless driving, or something more deliberate. However, the fact that the vehicle didn’t stop and fled the scene has raised red flags.

Security around the state assembly has since been tightened, with extra patrols and more strict checks at entry points. Officials say they are reviewing current security measures to ensure that such an incident doesn’t happen again.

No injuries were reported in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
