The Justice Hema Committee’s report on the challenges faced by women in the Malayalam film industry has recently sparked intense debate. Kollywood Actor Vishal has publicly responded to the report, emphasizing the need to protect women and ensure that those who harass them are punished. He announced plans to establish a similar committee in Kollywood, revealing that a 10-member committee is currently being formed.

Vishal expressed his shock at the findings of the Hema Committee report, which highlights the difficulties women encounter in the industry. He urged film producers to provide opportunities for women and warned against those who misuse their power. Vishal stressed the importance of courage in confronting such issues and condemned individuals who demand favors in exchange for opportunities. He also noted that many women in Kollywood have faced similar problems due to fake production houses, reinforcing the need for a committee in the Tamil film industry.
The Justice Hema Committee spent nearly seven years compiling the report, which investigates various issues including working conditions, remuneration, and women’s participation in technical roles within the Malayalam film industry. The report addresses serious concerns such as the casting couch and discrimination faced by women in Mollywood, sparking widespread discussion.
