Hyderabad Overtakes Bengaluru in 2024 Hurun India Rich List: Hyderabad has risen to become the city with the third-highest number of billionaires in India, according to the 2024 Hurun India Rich List. The city now boasts 104 billionaires, surpassing Bengaluru for the first time and following Mumbai, which leads with 386 billionaires, and New Delhi with 217. This year, Hyderabad has welcomed 17 new billionaires.
Telangana, as a state, ranks fifth in the country for the number of billionaires, reflecting its growing economic influence.

Murali Divi and his family, founders of Divi’s Laboratories, are the fourth richest pharmaceutical industrialists in India, with a wealth of ₹76,100 crore. Murali Divi is ranked 26th in the country and first in Hyderabad.
C. Venkateswar Reddy of Aparna Constructions is one of the top ten biggest gainers in wealth growth percentage in 2024 nationwide.
S. Subramanian Reddy of Aparna Constructions is among the top ten biggest wealth gainers over the past five years in India.
Ponguleti Harsha Reddy, at just 30 years old and son of Congress Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, stands out as one of Hyderabad’s wealthiest individuals with a net worth of ₹1,300 crore.
P. Pichi Reddy of Megha Engineering (MEIL) is the richest individual in the construction and engineering sector with a wealth of ₹54,800 crore.
