Actress Tripti Dimri, known for her standout role in the film Animal, recently opened up about her career journey and the challenges she faced along the way. In a candid interview, she reflected on her early experiences in the industry, highlighting the obstacles that came with her aspirations to become an actress.
Hailing from Uttarakhand but raised in Delhi, Tripti had a passion for acting from a young age. Despite receiving encouragement from her family, she faced societal pressures from neighbors and relatives who were skeptical of her career choice. “When I decided to pursue acting, my family was initially confused. They received comments from those around them questioning my ambitions,” she recalled.
After moving to Mumbai, Tripti encountered numerous challenges in the competitive film industry. “I lived in a room with about 50 other people, all trying to make it in the industry. It was tough; there were moments when I lost faith in myself,” she admitted. However, determined to succeed, she persevered and refused to return home. Her hard work eventually paid off when she gained recognition for her role in Laila Majnu.

Tripti also shared insights about her family’s reaction to her career choice. Initially, her relatives expressed concern, warning her parents about the pitfalls of the film industry. “They would say things like, ‘Why did you let her pursue this? The cinema is not a good place, and she might fall into bad habits.’ They were worried that no one would want to marry me,” she explained. However, after the success of Laila Majnu, her family’s perspective shifted, and they felt proud of her achievements.
Following her recent success in Animal, many fans have started calling her the “National Crush.” Tripti expressed her gratitude for this newfound title. “I started my career in Bollywood, and I’m happy for the opportunities I’ve received. At the beginning, I never imagined I would work with such talented actors and directors. Training in acting after Laila Majnu helped me connect with the audience. Being labeled as the National Crush means a lot to me; it reflects the love and support from my fans, and I’m truly grateful for it.”
