Alia Bhatt Opens Up: “Faced with Physical Challenges”

Alia Bhatt, who made her acting debut in the 2012 film “Student of the Year,” has emerged as one of Bollywood’s leading actresses. As the daughter of acclaimed filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, she has carved her own niche in the industry with numerous successful films. In a recent interview, Alia opened up about the challenges she faced at the beginning of her career and her evolving perspective on body image.

“I’ve always considered myself a bit of a nerd and never worried much about my looks,” Alia shared. “However, entering the film industry required me to make significant changes. I faced numerous physical challenges and worked very hard to lose weight.” She recalled the pressures of dieting and how, despite advice from others to “stop dieting and eat what you like,” she remained determined to maintain her weight.

Alia candidly admitted that even now, she continues to navigate these struggles. “When I was pregnant, my perspective on my body completely changed. I realized that I should never criticize my appearance,” she said, highlighting a transformative moment in her life.

In addition to discussing her body image journey, Alia spoke about her inspirations in the film industry. “I draw a lot of inspiration from legends like Rekha and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Their beauty is captivating, and they have an undeniable presence,” she said. Alia also mentioned her admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, noting, “He has an incredible ability to connect with audiences.”

Dance is another passion for Alia, and she has always been inspired by it. “Before I perform in a movie, I make it a point to watch dance videos on YouTube to refine my skills. It’s an integral part of my preparation,” she explained.

Alia was last seen in “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani” and “Heart of Stone,” both of which received positive feedback from audiences. Currently, she is busy working on two exciting projects: “Alpha” and “Jigra.” The latter, produced by Karan Johar, is set to release on October 11.
