Mr. Bachchan starring Ravi Teja in the direction of Harish Shankar and Puri Jagannadh’s Double Ismart released on Indian Independence Day. Harish Shankar after a gap of years came with Mr. Bachchan and his combination with Ravi Teja also increased hype around the film. Puri Jagannadh post Liger disaster, decided to come up with a sequel to Ismart Shankar starring Ram Pothineni.
Both the films ended up attracting trolls for their “comic content”. Harish Shankar reimagined Ajay Devgn’s Raid film as Mr. Bachchan and made hero an orchestra singer, that too, an exclusively Hindi songs specialist. So, he used many classic Hindi songs and audiences felt them as drag rather than nostalgic memories while watching the film.
On the other hand, Double Ismart film had Puri’s favourite and lucky legendary comedian Ali’s “Boka track”. Both of them have become great friends over the years and Ali comedy track has become a must in Puri Jagannadh’s films. So, they both created this “Tarzanish ape-man” character for comedy. But audiences felt the character has gone overboard with cringe scenes and obscure gestures.
Now, Mr. Bachchan makers have officially stated that they trimmed out 13 minutes adhering to audiences feedback. Even Puri Jagannadh has decided to trim out some scenes from Ali comedy track say sources. Mr. Bachchan makers also created buzz with Bhagyashri Borse glamorous portrayal and hit songs. So, did they trim out some obscure steps there too, only viewers can say.
Well, for box office success, makers do tend to add every kind of “content” for all sorts of audiences. But these days, people who ask for “bits” and enjoy double meaning innuendos seem to have come down. So, looking at this trend of criticism that Mr. Bachchan and Double Ismart films are facing, hope others stop using such bad, disgusting tracks.
