Aditi Rao Hydari talks about fewer film offers after marriage

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari has said that she hasn’t received many film offers since getting married to fellow actor Siddharth in 2024. This comes as a surprise to many, especially after her successful role in the Netflix series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.

In a recent chat with filmmaker Farah Khan on YouTube, Aditi Rao Hydari said she expected more work to come her way after the show. “Everyone was praising my role, so I thought I’d be flooded with good offers. But instead, things just went quiet,” she explained. She called it a “drought” in her career.

Farah joked that maybe the slow period was why Aditi chose to get married. Aditi laughed and said the timing of their wedding was planned carefully, as both she and Siddharth had busy work schedules.

Aditi played the role of Bibbo Jaan in Heeramandi, which was well-loved by viewers. Her graceful walk in one scene even became viral online. Despite the attention, she said the expected new opportunities didn’t follow.

However, there’s good news ahead. Aditi is now working on a romantic drama for Netflix, directed by Imtiaz Ali. She will star alongside Avinash Tiwary and Arjun Rampal.

Many fans have reacted with surprise, saying that talented actresses like Aditi deserve more roles. Some pointed out that married or older actresses are often overlooked in the film industry.

Aditi remains hopeful and positive. “The wedding was wonderful, and I’m looking forward to what comes next,” she said. Her story has started new conversations about how the industry treats women after major life changes.
