Actor and politician Nagababu, known for being part of the ‘Mega’ family in Telugu cinema, recently shared his thoughts about his daughter Niharika’s marriage and divorce in a rare YouTube interview.
Although busy with politics, Nagababu still takes on acting roles from time to time. In his latest interview, he spoke openly about his children, actor Varun Tej and producer Niharika Konidela.
Varun Tej made his acting debut with the film Mukunda and has built a strong fan base by choosing unique stories. He married actress Lavanya Tripathi last year and is currently working on a film based on a Korean horror story.
Niharika, the only female from the Mega family to enter the film industry, made her debut with Oka Manasu. Despite high expectations, her films did not perform well. She later married Chaitanya Jonnalagadda, the son of a close friend of actor Chiranjeevi. The wedding was a grand affair, but sadly, the couple separated later due to personal differences.
Speaking about this, Nagababu admitted, “We made a mistake in judging the match. They couldn’t connect well, and they decided to part ways by mutual understanding. Niharika is now focusing on her career and doing well.”
He added that he never wanted to interfere in his children’s decisions. “She agreed to the marriage, but it wasn’t completely her choice. When she said she wanted a divorce, I supported her. Now, she is happy and moving forward with her life.”
Niharika has now become a producer and even won the prestigious Gaddar Award for her debut film. Her father expressed pride in her strength and growth after a difficult period.
