VIT-AP University Launches Marathon for Drugs-Free India – Awareness Program

VIT-AP University took a significant step in promoting a drug- free society by launching a marathon as part of the Vitopia 2025 an Annual Sports and Cultural

Festival today. The event was inaugurated by the Guntur District Superintendent of Police, S. Sathish Kumar, IPS, alongside VIT group Vice President, Dr. G.V. Selvam. This marathon is part
of VIT-AP University’s ongoing efforts to contribute to building a healthier and more responsible future for the youth of India.

The marathon aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and to encourage young people to stay healthy, active, and free from addiction. Young people succumbing to
drug addiction, which is leading to the destruction of their futures. There is a need for stronger community awareness programs and collective efforts to combat the drug menace. VIT-AP
University’s initiative in organizing the marathon is a crucial step for creating a drug-free society.

The marathon, which saw active participation from students, faculty, and staff, was part of VIT-AP’s broader efforts to promote physical well-being and social awareness among the
university community.

Dr. S.V.Kota Reddy, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Jagadish Chandra Mudiganti, Registrar of VIT-AP University, Dr. Krishnasamy, Convenor of Vitopia, Dr. Khadeer Pasha, Deputy Director of Student Welfare, Dr. Ramachandra Rao – Physical education Director as well as students, faculty, and staff have participated in the marathon.
