Virat Kohli Craze Sparks IPL Black Ticket Racket Investigation

Team India’s cricket giant, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Virat Kohli’s craze has once again led to a sensation. As part of IPL 2026, the case of black tickets related to the recent match between Delhi Capitals and RCB has recently come to light. A key official of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) was allegedly involved in the case. On April 27, the match between Delhi and Bangalore was held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. RCB got a comfortable victory in this match.

According to media reports, the Delhi Police found that the complimentary tickets for the DC and RCB match were sold at huge prices. It is reported that each ticket was sold up to Rs.80 thousand. Four people have already been arrested in this case. Mukeem (35), Gufran (36) and Mohammad Faisal (38) were among those arrested. They were detained by the police near the stadium. Pankaj Yadav, an employee of the petrol station, was also detained as part of the investigation. A police investigation revealed that a large network was operating behind the black market of tickets.

It seems that an officer of DDCA played a key role behind this black ticket racket. Delhi Police officials suspect that the ticket prices were fixed depending on the importance of the match and the craze of the star players. It has been revealed in the investigation that the prices have been further increased due to the huge demand especially for the matches played by King Virat Kohli. This is a very secret racket. It was very methodical. Before the start of the match, the ticket prices go up a lot. Virat Kohli is the main attraction for the RCB match. Kohli used the craze. National media reported that police sources said that each ticket was sold for at least Rs.80 thousand.

Delhi Police’s investigation revealed that more than a thousand tickets were sold in block for each match. The police believe that huge sums of money have been cashed in on fans’ desire to watch the match live at the ground. Currently, as per BCCI rules, the host franchise gives 10 to 15 percent of each match ticket to the hosting association as complimentary passes. There are accusations of black marketing by misusing this system. This incident is once again raising questions on the IPL ticket system. The fact that the tickets are going to the black market instead of to the fans has become a topic of discussion in the cricket circles.
