Shakti Shalini Postponed: The buzz around Aneet Padda’s upcoming horror comedy Shakti Shalini is huge after the success of her debut Saiyaara. Now fresh reports are saying the film might not make it in December 2026. The possible reason is a mega box office clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s much awaited action entertainer King.

It was first planned for a December 24, 2026 release, reports now suggests Shakti Shalini could be pushed to January 2027. Apparently, the makers want to steer clear of competing directly with King, which is expected to dominate that Christmas box office window. And honestly it kinda does make sense, because if you’re trying to avoid a straight confrontation at the busiest time , you do what you can. Plus, the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe film might get a more solid solo run in theatres, rather than risking it against one of Bollywood’s biggest releases.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Shakti Shalini features Aneet Padda as the lead. The story is said to draw from Bengali folklore and supernatural mythology. The movie also grabbed attention recently after the actress’ viral look from the sets surfaced online, and yeah it happened pretty fast too.
On the other side, King is still looking like one of the most anticipated Bollywood films of 2026. The action thriller stars Shah Rukh Khan, along with daughter Suhana Khan, and it’s directed by Siddharth Anand. For now, there’s still no official confirmation from the Shakti Shalini team, but the reported delay has already sparked a lot of talk online.
