Stock Markets Update: Indices recover with nominal gains

Stock Markets recover nominally on 12th March

Stock Markets recovered with nominal gains on 12th March 2024. Traders started off on a huge note and continued in that zone till mid-session. International Stock Markets did not really help traders to continue trading in gains. Slowly, towards the end of the session, they saw some kind of gains. Hence, BSE gained 165.32 points to close at 73,667.96 and Nifty gained 3.05 points to close at 22,335.70 mark.

BSE Sensex started trading at 73,516.42 and then continued to trade between 73,342.12 – 74,004.16. Index started off high but oscillated between gains and losses throughout. While it crossed the 74,000 mark at its highest, it could not maintain them at all. Hence, BSE ended the trading session at 73,667.96 by gaining 165.32 points.

Nifty Sensex started trading at 22,334.45 mark and it hit its highest for the day at 22,452.55. Nifty50 hit the lowest at 22,256.00. Index started off on a positive note and continued trading in green. But losses in ITC has driven the NSE into losses as well. With slight recovery, Nifty50 ended by gaining nominal 3.05 points on 22,335.70.

Indian Rupee traded at Rs.82.77 against US Dollar on 12th March, 2024. HDFC Bank, TCS, Maruthi Suzuki, Infosys, Reliance have been top gainers in this session. SBI, JSW Steel, Tata Motors, ITC, Nestle India shares have been top losers. As British American Tobacco company is said to be looking to sell off its stake in ITC, the big stock has rendered major losses on 12th March.
