Haryana CM ML Khattar resigns and Nayab Singh Saini to be new CM

Haryana CM ML Khattar resigns for his position

Haryana politics have seen a great level of stir as state CM Manohar Lal Khattar has resigned from his position on 12th March. The speculations about a fall-out between BJP and Jananayak Janata Party, JJP, have been quiet prominent in the political circles after his resignation.

Amid the speculations about the seat share between BJP and JJP, in Parliament elections, the change in CM has become a huge debate. BJP has 41 MLAs and JJP has 10 MLAs. Now, BJP can still form government with independents but they are more worried about once again winning all MP seats in the upcoming 2024 elections like they did in 2019.

There are also speculations that Manohar Lal Khatter will be given a bigger position or MP ticket and hence, he has resigned. Nayab Singh Saini, MP and Haryana BJP party President, has been elected to become new CM of the state. All party MLAs have elected him to be the new CM and he will contest as a MLA in coming days.

Nayab Singh Saini is one of the most prominent leaders of the state and belongs to OBC community. He is close to ML Khatter as well. BJP could be looking to strengthen their hold in different communities with him as their CM. How the party will strategise in Lok Sabha polls is needed to be seen.
